Binary Analysis notes is a seminar that gives an overview of cybersecurity topics while boosting interests for this interesting discipline. We will start with a short introduction about origins of hacking and its particular essence. Then, we will move nowadays to looking at CTFs and my experience until reaching bug bounty worlds and how we deviated from the original soul. We will zoom on binary analysis, in particular for ELF and we will discuss several anti-analysis and anti-debugging techniques. In the end, we will propose a real ELF binary unpacking as exercise.
