Secure Mobility Management in ICN

  • The project aims to investigate and develop, secure and privacy aware solutions for provisioning secure mobility in Information Centric Networking (ICN) networks. In ICN networks, typical mobile scenarios include both consumer and producer as mobile entities. While traditional ICN already provides support for consumer mobility, triggering mobility on producer required, and still requires, a research effort. In recent years, research community started approaching mobility issues for both consumer and producer, and presenting different techniques to solve such issues. The existing techniques analyze mobility in ICN among different domains (inter-domain mobility) as well as within a single domain (intra-domain mobility), but mostly ignore related security aspects. The former considers devices that move to a different Autonomous System (AS), thus requesting the dissemination of routing information between as well as within ASes. The latter regards devices that move to a different point within the same AS, therefore dissemination of routing information must be managed only by a single AS. The goal of this project is to analyze security and privacy issues for producer and consumer mobility on both the scenarios.
